一直以來，城市與國家公園彼此涇渭分明，互不相干，城市隨著工業化恣意地發展，而國家公園卻如同被軟禁的自然，淪為提供都市人娛樂、欣賞的後花園。但如果今日城市本身就是一座國家公園，是否有機會打破彼此之間的主從關係? 「國家公園城市」便是一個在城市中追求如同國家公園一般健康、永續且共生的概念，倘若城市管理者、居民對於都市生活的認知能如同身處野外一般，那麼城市就不應只是人類的庇護所，而是能與動物們分享的共同棲息地。

National Park City (NPC) is “A large urban area that is managed and semi-protected through both formal and informal means to enhance the natural capital of its living landscape. A defining feature is the widespread and significant commitment of residents, visitors and decision-makers to allow natural processes to provide a foundation for a better quality of life” (London NPC, 2015).

This illustration is drawn under the project #DrawingEarthAction for the Earth Day in 2021.
